There is nothing better than a Friday at a school.
Having spent nearly my entire life in public schools, I have a general model for how the week goes. Everyone feels sleepy on Monday. Tuesday is super focused. Wednesday starts to pull at the seams a bit. Thursday can feel heavy and exhausting, but hopeful because you’re almost there. Friday though. On Friday (which for educators, starts when the bell rings on Thursday), our steps feel a bit lighter, our smiles less forced, and our manner more relaxed. We’ve gotten to the end of a week, and it’s much easier to love, or at least be pleasant with, each other, our work, and our kids.
CC Spaulding is a school that I cannot say enough about. First I will start by sharing the fact that all 3 of my kids have attended CC Spaulding, and all 3 of my kids are the better for it. Now I have 2 in middle and high school with 1 that will spend his last year there. My children came to CC Spaulding with different learning levels, and to state that the teachers, staff, volunteers, and community partners have influenced them is an understatement. CC Spaulding has taught and nurtured my kids into a lifetime of benefit. Imagine having that one teacher that has educated all 3 of your children and has watched all of them grow to be a GREAT bunch of kids. I am a better parent for what I have experienced at CC Spaulding. I have gone from being a “kiss and go” type to being a “fearless advocate” for all children through being active with the PTA and Durham Public Schools. I encourage any parent to search for Durham Public Schools, and you will find a good school. You will find a school that will become like family.
